TIFF, originally called Tagged Image File Format, is a computer file format for storing images, including photographs, line art among graphic artists, the publishing industry,[1] and both amateur and professional photographers in general.

Developed by Aldus Corporation in 1986, TIFF was originally created as an attempt to get desktop scanner vendors of the mid-1980s to agree on a common scanned image file format, rather than have each company promote its own proprietary format. As the technology grew, TIFF developers started to update TIFF formats to accommodate grayscale images and color images. And Now, TIFF is one of the most popular formats for high color-depth images, along with JPEG and PNG.

In most situations, user may choose TIFF as their first choice, for its compatible for Capable of describing bi-level, grayscale, palette-color, and full-color image data in several color spaces and large storage than other image file formats.
